In the heart of the modern lounge, a lone, old piano sits quietly. At first glance, you might walk right past it, not realizing the treasure before you. This wooden piano, exuding an exquisite vintage air, was crafted in the 1940s. Rather than keeping it behind barriers like a museum piece, the instrument is casually placed for anyone to play, for it still serves as the centerpiece for live performances.
At the aptly named "Piano Lounge" of Doulos Phos The Ship Hotel on Bintan Island, tables surround the piano, offering a place for guests to enjoy Indonesian and international à la carte dishes. During the day, natural light floods in from floor-to-ceiling windows, giving the lounge a bright and refreshing atmosphere.
Breakfast is also served in the Piano Lounge. The offerings change from day to day - on this day, appetizers, salad, and desserts were laid out buffet-style, while the main dish was ordered à la carte.
The lounge features nostalgic movie music on piano (via CD) as a backdrop, and the breeze coming in from the beach right in front of the hotel adds a touch of comfortable relaxation. Here, you can truly enjoy a leisurely resort time, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
At night, the interior of the lounge, designed primarily in blue tones, exudes a sophisticated, grown-up atmosphere.
The retro sound of the piano must have enchanted many people over the years, evoking a sense of nostalgia for the music of bygone days. It felt as if the piano itself was eagerly waiting for someone to grace us with a heartfelt performance.
